In 2007, Philip Dennhardt saw a gap in the frozen pizza market. The freezer isles were saturated with low quality pizzas all competing to have the lowest price, rather than the nicest flavour. He set about creating a company that produced high-quality, restaurant-standard, frozen pizzas that would allow customers to enjoy them in the comfort of their own homes. Pizza is a popular comfort food that is enjoyed in most houses at least once a week. Through market research Philip discovered that most pizza is bought in preparation for the weekend – thus Saturday Pizzas was born.
Saturday Pizzas is now a well established, award-winning frozen pizza producer, based in Little Island, Co. Cork. They believe that you shouldn’t have to compromise between quality and convenience when it comes to pizza. Their range of “fresh-but-frozen” pizzas is made with natural ingredients with no added flavourings, preservatives, or additives.
At Saturday Pizzas, their products are made by real people, not machines. A vast difference between the company and other manufacturers. They hand-stretch their signature dough and add fresh toppings, before firing up the pizzas in a rotating gas and wood oven. The pizzas are then flash frozen and packaged to lock in their authentic taste.
