Cork Civic Life hosted The Pride of Cork Awards 2024 on Friday March 1st at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa Little Island. Over 250 guests attended the gala black tie ceremony to honour 25 people and organisations in the voluntary, social, civic, charitable and not for profit organisations operating in all parts of Cork city and county.
Over 1,500 nominations were received after a public call and a judging panel that included Cllr. Deirdre Forde of Cork City Council, Cllr. Danielle Twomey of Cork County Council, Colette Lynch, Mary Jane O ‘ Regan and Amanda Neri.
The Chairman of Cork Civic Life, Michael Mulcahy said “There are more than 3,000 voluntary, social, civic, charitable and not for profit organisations in Cork and each of them are doing incredible things for people, for our communities and for Cork. The people that lead them, the volunteers that donate their time to them and the companies that support them are all amazing and that is why we host The Pride of Cork Awards, to honour and acknowledge these outstanding people and organisations. This year we were thrilled to honour some more fantastic people and organisations and we plan to continue doing this in the years ahead.”
