Irish firm launches new programme to bridge gap from education to employment
Smarttech247 today announced details of its inaugural Information Security Graduate Programme for 2021/2022. The initiative offers candidates the opportunity to be part of the next generation of cyber and information security experts, as the threat landscape continues to change and develop.
Cybersecurity roles are evolving as fast as the industry itself and skills shortages are a well-known concern. This Graduate Programme will allow Smarttech247 to identify talent coming through the pipeline, offer recruits the most up-to-date training and prepare them for opportunities in the company’s own operation.
Successful applicants will join an industry-leading fast-paced, dynamic team that uses the latest technologies to monitor and fight cyber threats to customers’ IT and OT infrastructure worldwide.
General Manager of Smarttech247 Raluca Saceanu says candidates must be focused: “We’re seeking passionate people who want to be part of our company’s mission, helping businesses defend themselves against cybercrime. The experience and training you gain from being exposed to real-world cyber situations is highly valuable. Unlike graduates at a very large firm, these recruits will get to contribute in a more meaningful way to our operation and benefit from the industry-leading mentoring we can offer”.
Smarttech247’s one-year programme will offer graduates training and development in the areas of information security, cyber security, data protection and consultancy services for clients. Recruits will collaborate directly with customers to build and implement security solutions and at the end of the course, the top talent will have the opportunity to join Smarttech247 on a full-time basis.
Applications are being welcomed from all academic backgrounds, however a relevant degree in information security, network engineering or computer science is preferable. The programme is designed for recent graduates from within the last two years. If you have experience in risk management, business intelligence, information security and can demonstrate extracurricular expertise, Raluca says this programme is for you: “You should expect to be taken out of your comfort zone and discover something new all the time, so a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn will be key”. The Graduate Programme is based at Smarttech247’s Cork office, but may have an element of remote working. Recruits may also have the opportunity to visit some of Smarttech247’s other bases in the US, Romania and Poland in the course of their training.
Interested applicants, who want to join a leading organisation in one of the fastest- growing industries in the world should submit a cover letter and CV to careers@smarttech247.com by March 31, 2021. Interviews will commence in April 2021.
