ACET is a family run school with more than 45 years’ experience. Established by Odile Migieu and Pat Coade. Prior to 2010, they were known as Cork Language Centre International.
Joelle Coade, Odile and Pat’s daughter, who joined the Company in 2000 decided to re-structure the company and adopt a modern up to date philosophy. They won ‘Best Practice Operator of the Year’ with the ACQ5 Country Awards 2020 and ‘Most Innovative English Language Training School 2020’ with Irish Enterprise Awards 2020. They also winners in the Cork Business Awards, winning Cork SME Company of the Year 2019. Odile Migieu has been listed as one of the Top 30 Leaders to Watch 2020 in the Silicon Review April 2020. Having been nominated, shortlisted, or having won 15 awards over a 3-year period, the team are delighted to be finalists once again in the prestigious All-Star Business Awards.
We had a chat with Joelle about ACET, who are an award-winning education centre, she is enthusiastic and dynamic and her passion for giving the students the best experience shines through.
Tell us about ACET?
Today ACET is the oldest remaining school of its type in Ireland. It was established at a time when such services and education tourism were unique. Our centre is in an elegant & stylish building in the heart of Cork city centre. Our boutique school boasts a Georgian chic interior with excellent facilities & technology to enhance learning. We have developed and firmly established a reputation of professionalism and excellence based on understanding the needs of clients thanks to our innovative, progressive, and enthusiastic attitude.
What services do you offer?
We offer a full portfolio of English language training from Standard and corporate to aviation and military. We offer general English courses, examination preparation courses, teacher training programmes, corporate training, English for special purposes, internship programmes, pathway university programmes, family programmes, summer camps, junior programmes, high school programmes and bespoke packages. Our products and services cater for all age groups and backgrounds and are consistently delivered to a platinum level, setting us apart from local and global competitors. We provide this service in one of the most beautiful, friendly cities in the world.

We pride ourselves on providing courses and services of the highest standard to our clients at competitive prices. Our teaching and administrative staff ensure a welcoming and friendly atmosphere and are proud of the individual care and attention given to each student. While our core activity is English Language Training, we offer a range of services including a choice of accommodation, a social programme, and students’ social welfare. We are delighted to be located in Cork, a haven for culture and recreation.
Are students looked after for all their needs upon arrival?
Our students and partners have 24 hours experience from the time they arrive to the time they return home .Our 2019 questionnaires showed an average rating 4.8 / 5 for teaching quality, 92% for quality of administration and for staff friendliness, and 96% for homestay accommodation.
