Sustainability in Action
FPS is committed to driving meaningful change for the environmental well-being of the world: ensuring transparency, strong governance principles, and continuous improvement for the people and communities they impact. The company believes circularity is the future and is working to create a more sustainable world by shifting away from the traditional ‘take, make, dispose’ model, and doing more with less virgin material and minimising waste.
The company’s sustainability framework aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and is built around three key targets to be achieved by 2030:
- Positively impact 30 million lives through FPS’s commitment to supporting the well-being of all stakeholders and communities it serves. Local plant managers play a key role in driving community engagement, ensuring impact where it matters most. To help reach the 30 million goal, FPS launched the Omniversal Life Impact Program (OLIP). One of its key projects, the WaterSafe Initiative, provides cleaner, safer solutions for transporting water in developing regions.
- Achieve a minimum of 30% recycled content globally by embracing a circular economy model. This includes reducing dependency on virgin materials and investing in advanced recycling capabilities – highlighted by the development of a state-of-the-art recycling facility in Romania.
- Become nature positive, contributing more to the environment than it takes. As companies globally shift from minimising harm to actively benefiting nature, FPS has pledged to make a nature-positive contribution by 2030.
FPS’s efforts have been recognised with a Platinum EcoVadis Medal, placing it among the top 1% of companies worldwide for sustainability performance in 2024. It is also a proud member of Sedex and an active contributor to initiatives like the Green Tractor Scheme, which promotes agricultural recycling.
Prioritising People, Diversity and Safety
Beyond environmental goals, FPS is equally dedicated to its workforce and communities. With more than 3,700 employees worldwide, the company promotes a people-first culture focused on safety, inclusivity, and continuous learning. Diversity is a cornerstone, with a near-equal gender split globally (47% female, 53% male), and FPS has received Great Place to Work certifications in multiple countries.
In 2024, the company achieved a Medical Case Rate (MCR) of just 0.08 – among the lowest in the industry – with an ambitious target of zero by 2025. This success reflects a deeply embedded ESG approach that prioritizes employee well-being, ethical governance, and transparent operations.
