Little Island is set to welcome the establishment of the Little Island Padel Club, an exciting new members-only club for padel players. This development follows the recent sale of Community Padel to Padel Partners Ireland. Announcing the sale, Michael Mulcahy, Chairman of Community Padel, highlighted that the transaction was one of the fastest start-up sales he had ever been involved in. Shortly after Community Padel announced its ambitious plans for the sport in August, Padel Partners Ireland approached with a similar vision for expanding padel across Ireland. After six weeks of intensive negotiations, Padel Partners Ireland acquired the full share capital, brand, and intellectual property of Community Padel, signaling a significant move toward growing the sport nationwide.
As part of the agreement, Michael Mulcahy will no longer be involved with Community Padel but has retained the rights to open a Padel Campus in Cork, with plans to establish the Little Island Padel Club. The club will limit membership to 100 players per court, ensuring that members have plenty of court time throughout the year. Located in an area with over 1,000 companies, 12,500 employees, and 1,500 residents, the club will offer individual and corporate memberships at fantastic rates. Under this model, members will enjoy free play for the year with no court fees, making padel even more accessible.
Additionally, the club will collaborate with Sandra Lopez, known as ‘The Queen of Padel,’ who will lead The Padel Academy and deliver world-class coaching programs. Further details on court and membership plans will be announced soon, with pre-registration opening for those interested.
