An Tanaiste Simon Coveney today officially cut the ribbon at the Clayton Hotel Silver Springs to mark the completion of a €2 million refurbishment at the hotel.
All 109 bedrooms have been fully refurbished as part of an €8.5 million investment at the city centre property.
Speaking at the opening, Tanaiste Simon Coveney T.D. said:
“The Clayton Hotel Silver Springs has been a stalworth of the Cork city centre hotels for decades. It continues to be a linchpin for corporate visitors and conferencing with one of the highest capacities in the Region. I am delighted to officiate at the ceremony today to officially mark the completion of this significant investment and wish all the team here at the Clayton Silver Springs continued success.”
Since the hotel was acquired by the Dalata group in 2015, more than €8.5 million was invested in the refurbishment and renovation of the hotel’s ballroom, conferencing and events, Lounge and Gallery restaurant over the last four years. The latest investment in the bedroom refurbishment completes the latest phase of refurbishment at the hotel.
“At the Clayton Hotel Silver Springs, we continue to innovate and develop to exceed the needs of visitors to Cork, particularly business travellers. Now that the bedroom refurbishment is complete, we will continue to develop our offering to exceed the needs of our visitors and clients, and continue to provide our award-winning service for the business traveller. We expect to commence a new project on the Georgian mansion on site at the hotel, with additional investment, to provide a unique offering for private group accommodation in the coming years,” said Joe Kennedy, Clayton Silver Springs General Manager.
The landmark building and location of the Clayton Hotel Silver Springs in Cork make it a popular choice for guests arriving into Cork from the Dublin and Waterford motorways to do business in Cork, and combined with the 1,500 seat conference and events centre, ample parking, business centre, high-speed broadband and superlative customer service, the Clayton Hotel Silver Springs offers an exceptional offering to the corporate traveller.
