Cara Partners, a key player in Cork’s pharmaceutical industry and a member of Germany’s Schwabe Group, has unveiled a €130 million investment plan to modernise and expand its Little Island facility. This investment is set to create 60 new highly skilled roles over the next four years, strengthening both local employment and Ireland’s position as a global leader in the pharmaceutical sector.
Founded in 1978, Cara Partners has been a vital part of the Schwabe Group, a global leader in natural health solutions, including plant-based medicines. The expansion will enable the development of processes for 15 additional Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) products at the Cork facility. Additionally, significant resources will be allocated to enhance and increase the production volume of the existing EGb 761 API product, ensuring Cara Partners remains at the forefront of innovation and production within the industry.
This project, supported by IDA Ireland, reaffirms the commitment of the Irish Government to regional investment and job creation.
