The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and his Cabinet met yesterday in Cork City Hall, the second meeting of Mr. Varadkar’s government in the second city.
Arriving this morning, the Taoiseach, Tánaiste and government ministers were greeted by Ann Doherty, Chief Executive of Cork City Council.
After the meeting, lunch was served to the Cabinet in the Lord Mayor’s Chamber before Mr. Varadkar signed the visitor’s book in the Lord Mayor’s Office.
Lord Mayor of Cork Cllr. Mick Finn said:
“It’s appropriate that the Cabinet meets in Cork on a day we celebrate 120 years of local government and stand on cusp of largest city boundary extension in history. However, long delays in projects like the Event Centre and a major housing build should warn against making plans for plans’ sake…we need to match words with deeds.”
